Visit to the Robert d'Arbrissel Lyceum

A group of 18 students from the Mikes Kelemen Secondary School, class XI, accompanied by three teachers, visited Robert de Arbrissel School in France in early May 2023. The aim of the programmes was to practise French as a second foreign language, to learn about French culture and history, with a special focus on the Loire Valley, and to raise awareness of environmental issues through school and interactive activities.

In addition to getting to know the host school and its students, the history of the school, the surroundings and the town were also explored through a series of activities.

In the Puy du Fou Historical Park, interactive presentations and demonstrations brought historical events to life for the students, while the visual effects in the Futuroscope park helped them to experience the world of visual effects.

Nature conservation, environmental issues and the sensible use of direct natural elements were explored through hands-on activities in the Camifolia Botanical Garden.

Together with the students from the host school, there was also the opportunity to attend a theatre performance for people with disabilities, in which some of the students from the host school all participated as performers.

Under the guidance of the school's history teacher, students and teachers were able to gain an insight into certain periods of medieval French history, learning about the main artistic, historical and linguistic features of the visit to the castles of Chambord, Chenonceau and Angers.
